What we evaluate for a Frontend role

Technical Fundamentals

Core JavaScript (closures, async/promises, event loop), React or the candidate's framework (state, hooks, rendering), CSS layout (flexbox/grid, specificity), browser fundamentals (DOM, HTTP caching, CORS), accessibility basics, and web performance (bundle size, lazy loading, Core Web Vitals).

Problem Solving

DOM-manipulation problems, async orchestration (promise chains, debounce/throttle, race handling), array/string transformations framed in UI contexts (list filtering, tree-to-menu rendering), and light state-machine reasoning. Avoid abstract graph theory; keep problems frontend-flavored.

Projects & Behavioral

Frontend project deep-dive: component architecture decisions, state-management choice and its trade-offs, performance work with measurable results, cross-browser or responsive challenges, collaboration with designers/PMs.

HR Round

Career motivation in frontend/product engineering, handling design-engineering disagreements, ownership of user-facing quality.

System Design

Frontend system design: component library architecture, state architecture at scale, micro-frontends, SSR/CSR/hydration trade-offs, asset delivery and caching strategy.
